Interview (Ria Santos)
3MG: Is “Ria” your real name or model name?
Ria is my nickname that my family gave me, it’s just a shortened version of my full name.
3MG: Where are you from? And, are you currently living there? If not, where are you currently living?
I was born in the Philippines. I moved to the states when I was very young, and lived in Cali and Seattle. I moved to Las Vegas when I was 22 to work at a dayclub during summer pool season. Since Vegas is kind of dead during the holidays, I decided to spend them in New York City, which is currently where I am living now I am planning to go back to Vegas next year for pool season again, but who knows what’s in store?
3MG: fav. sport team(s)
Tough one since I don’t really follow anyone anymore. I used to follow Sonics, Mariners, and Seahawks
3MG: What makes you feel sexy?
After a long relaxing spa day, getting dolled up, then wined and dined then spend a romantic night with my man.
3MG: Who is your role model?
My dad. He is a very influential man with many friends. He is also very loyal, humble, and he is the definition of an OG (original gangster)
3MG: How would your friends describe you?
I am very genuine and humble. I treat others the way I like to be treated, and find something good in everyone I meet. I am very sympathetic and feel for others. i’m a good listener and always push my friends to be better. That being said, a lot of my friends say that I am honest, tell things how they are, and speak my mind. What is there to lose by being yourself?
3MG: Does your personality match your Zodiac sign?
For the most part.
3MG: How long have you been modeling?
I have been modeling since I was 16. I have been off and on, but after I get my life in order, it will definitely be ON.
3MG: What would you say are your strengths as a model? (ex. body, eyes, certain poses and emotions…)
My exotic look oozes confidence and sexiness. I have a natural ability to work a camera.
3MG: Do you have any birthmarks, scars or tattoos? Please state “what”, “where”, “how noticeable?”
I have a tattoo on my pelvic bone; “C’est la vie”. It means “such is life”. I got this tattoo as a reminder to myself that shit happens in life, there is nothing you can do about it, the only thing you can do about situations, is how to handle and recover from them.
3MG: Describe yourself in 3 words or statements.
Exotic. Genuine. Positive.
3MG: What is your best beauty secret?
Salt scrubs, yoga, sauna and facials
3MG: Why do you love modeling?
I love seeing myself as different characters. I can be anyone I want to be. And I love the idea of capturing that, and being able to look back at my portfolio and remember the memories of what I was going through at the time that shot was taken. I also love my hectic lifestyle.
3MG: With any ‘spotlight’ type of job, you are looked upon as a role model. What advice would you give out to aspiring models?
Be yourself. Don’t do anything that you don’t feel comfortable doing. Don’t let anyone disrespect you. And most importantly, STAY HUMBLE. Don’t let other’s opinions bring you down or let it get to your head. Remember that what matters most is what you think of yourself.
3MG: Where can we see you? (ex. shows, tv, magazines, etc)
I haven’t signed any contracts yet, but who knows what the future will bring?!
3MG: Words to live by?
As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn’t supposed to ever let us down, probably will. You’ll have your heart broken and you’ll break others’ hearts. You’ll fight with your best friend or maybe even fall in love with them, and you’ll cry because time is flying by. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, forgive freely, and love like you’ve never been hurt. Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, no second chances. you just have to live life to the fullest, tell someone what they mean to you and tell someone off, speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone’s hand, comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late, be a flirt, and smile until your face hurts. Don’t be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all, live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back.
3MG: Where do you see yourself in 5 years:
I see myself settling down with a man and starting my career as a traveling nurse but no kids until after 30!
3MG: Any shout-outs or last words?
I have been through a lot, and have met a lot of people along the way. There are people out there who I cherish and will never forget. There are also a lot of people who taught me lessons the hard way.Whether they have impacted me in a negative or positive way, I am thankful for them making me who I am today. Special shoutout to my cousin, Alexie, dear friend, Kaz and my man DWai. Love you guys!
3MG: We have to ask for your fans, top or bottom? Nice and slow or fast and reckless?
I’m not picky, I like all of the above, but if all else fails, TOP!
Turn-ons: confidence, ambition, sense of humor, good listener, humble personality, spontaneity, a man who takes initiative, and doesn’t give a shit what his boys think, is a big, tough guy in the streets who’ll fuck you up if you cross him but a big teddy bear that will never let anyone harm me. I love being spoiled and treated like a princess.
Turn-offs: lying, manipulating, fronting, bad hygiene, being cheap, selfish, people who love attention.
Pet Peeves: I really don’t like it when people mistreat others for miniscule reasons, if any at all. Don’t lie or bullshit me, because I smell it from a mile away. PDA annoys me. Parents who can’t handle their children, (Russell Peters voice) “you need to beat your kids!” I also can’t stand drama queens, attention whores, and people who victimize themselves.
